Tyler's Thanksgiving Play
Today Tyler's class had a Thanksgiving Day play and feast. Parents were invited and the place was packed. My Dad went with me and the girls. The play was a typical 2nd grade play. After the play each child went up to the front and told what they were thankful for. It was so sweet to hear what the children had to say. When it was Tyler's turn he said,"I am grateful for my Papaw because he always takes me on hikes!" How sweet. I am not sure what was better hearing him say in the most genuine tone that he was thankful for my Dad or seeing the genuine smile on my Dad's face. He was so proud. The time spent hearing all the children stating what they are thankful for made me stop and think about all the wonderful reasons we have to be thankful. None of which are things. I think that this is sometimes hard to remember with Christmas coming up and wanting to fill the children's list.

That is so true. We are going to make an effort to give our kids less stuff and more experiences this year. We also really want to get them involved in giving to others. There are so many people who are having hard times this year. We really want them to think about how much they already have.
This made me smile, too! What a great thing for Papaw to hear :)
